Connie passed away unexpectedly on April 8, 2002. Her sudden departure left her family, friends, teachers, schoolmates
and us stunned, saddened, and speechless. Throughout her 12 years with us, she had given us much joy and happiness.
For her friends, schoolmates and teachers, besides her smile and wisdom, her leadership and character had made a long
lasting impression. Her service at Rose Hills was attended by close to 1000. Till now, we still receive letters and
e-mails
from her friends talking about the profound loving memory she has left on everyone.
Losing her at such a promising age has left us with a lot of emptiness. Seeing so many people having so much
love for her, however, has given us strength to move on. In her memory, we set up this website so that we all
can celebrate her life and create an enduring memory of her. We have included not only her pictures and her life
on the website but also the information of the Connie Wei-Luen Kao Memorial Fund.
The fund is set up with the objectives of giving scholarship awards to schools in the neighborhood annually as well as
establishing a small scale performing center or a soccer park in Hacienda Heights in the future.
